ok, nothing huge here, but i just wanted to point out that a very commonly overlooked area is tire pressure and tread. if you are low on tread, have the wrong kind of tires, or have your tires improperly inflated, it can cause you to lose some horsepower and gas milage, no joke!

very true! I think almost everyone knows to check thier tread and all, but few people regularly check tire pressure. Whether the ground is hot or cold also makes a difference when you are driving, affecting both your traction and your tire pressure. I'll let you all look into that on your own to figure out your own techniques...

yeah streetracer, thats right, a lot of people dont know that. it doesnt make very much of a difference at all, but have knowledge and techniques on 10 or 20 different little aspects can really add up when you're in a dead-even race...
Simple physics, when the road is hot your tire pressure slightly increases, and when the road is cold your tire pressure slightly decreases. but you get slightly better traction on a warmer road because the rubber can grip the road better.
Good little tips to keep in mind

You dont want to let any pressure out in the rain. Letting pressure out can allow the tread to bow inwards not really, just less pressure on the middle of the tread than on the sides which can allow water to accumulate there, separating tire from pavement in the middle. Then its kinda like running on just the outsides of your tires, which is bad.

Stick with the standard pressure to keep the most rubber on the road in the rain.
